Day 1 of Me Made May has been pretty much perfect. Firstly I was actually able to find a suitable outfit for the day that included a me made t-shirt; then I managed to find a serious chunk of time to get stuck into my first pair of jeans; and thirdly, my man-about-the-house cooked up a delicious roast for lunch!
Today's outfit included a Lane raglan by Hey June made up in this beautiful Liberty of London Jersey (Paper Garden Blue) with contrasting sleeves. Comfy, slouchy and pretty...without being too pretty.
As for the stitching, I am tackling the Morgan Boyfriend Jeans by Closet Case Patterns - and they are proving to be lots of fun. I am loving the detail, topstitching and construction required - a longer, but more satisfying process than whipping up a simple t-shirt (although, believe me, that certainly has its place in my sewing repertoire!)
I've made a few adjustments for fit - but as pants are my nemesis (both ready to wear and handmade) I'm still a little nervous about the final fit. I have all fingers and toes crossed!
I am lucky enough to have a sewing space big enough to have three machine set up - so I've taken the opportunity to use one for standard seams, one for top stitching, and an overlocker. Saves so much time not having to change thread all the time.
Day 2 is likely to be a little busier - but here's hoping I can find a little time to keep working on my jeans......
