This little collection of 100% cotton batiste fabrics are destined to become a collection of little girl's culottes in the next few days. The cotton batiste, similar to a cotton lawn, is beautifully soft and light making it perfect for the warm weather coming. Swirling skirts, breezy dresses, and floaty tanks are top contenders for the cotton batiste range we have in store. Or how about some gorgeous nightwear?
Photographed from top to bottom: Cloud Tears in Mustard, Rose Duck; Bye Bye Birdie; Star Dust in Almond; and Star Dust in Peach.
A new favourite top. As comfortable as an old sweatshirt but, with the elegant texture of washed linen, it becomes effortless style. Perfect for throwing on with a pair of jeans while lounging around the house or for a morning coffee date.
I think these two Fielder tops - in virgin white laundered linen, and a Nani Iro double gauze from my stash - will become the two most worn pieces in my spring wardrobe. Easy to wear, low maintenance, comfortable and smart enough to take me most places on my daily travels.
This is Merchant & Mills' latest pattern and is designed for an advanced beginner to sew. They are relatively quick and easy - I managed to make these two in a weekend while still getting in plenty of family time.
There is virgin white and goodnight (navy) cotton rib in store which has been selected specifically for this pattern. Suitable fabrics for the Fielder top and dress include laundered linen, soft cottons, lightweight denims, soft light wool, light flannel or crepe.
I have a funny feeling these won't the last Fielder tops I sew....
