Fifteen days of May have gone by, and so far I have been able to wear at least one Me Made piece from my wardrobe each day. Here's a quick re-cap. If you are feeling inspired by any of my makes, scroll down for links to the fabrics and patterns you can find in the Miss Maude Store.
This year Miss Maude is proud to sponsor Me Made May. The month long challenge is a great way to become more aware of what's in your wardrobe and to really make the most of what you've got - as well as identifying a few holes that may need filling.
This week I will be giving away $120 worth of beautiful new and vintage haberdashery from the store to one lucky winner. If you win, you'll receive everything you can see in the picture above, plus a little more....
To enter head on over to Jennifer Lauren Vintage to check out the details - you will also be able to check out her beautiful, vintage inspired sewing patterns while you are there...
Here's a quick peak at the latest project off the sewing machine. And perfect timing for Me Made May and the autumn weather. These Morgan Boyfriend jeans are the latest pattern release from Closet Case Patterns - a relaxed fit, comfortable, non-stretch denim pair of jeans.
The pattern includes detailed instructions, so if you haven't made jeans before - it is just a simple case of following along. I would suggest any intermediate sewer would easily put a pair of these together. They really aren't as hard as I had anticipated - in fact they were lots of fun and I'm eager to start another pair of jeans. Probably Ginger skinnies next....
This is the only photo I have at the moment - but will post some more once I have some!
Day 1 of Me Made May has been pretty much perfect. Firstly I was actually able to find a suitable outfit for the day that included a me made t-shirt; then I managed to find a serious chunk of time to get stuck into my first pair of jeans; and thirdly, my man-about-the-house cooked up a delicious roast for lunch!
Today's outfit included a Lane raglan by Hey June made up in this beautiful Liberty of London Jersey (Paper Garden Blue) with contrasting sleeves. Comfy, slouchy and pretty...without being too pretty.
She has a thing for stacks of beautiful fabrics, delights in holding something made to last, and respects good craftsmanship. These are the driving forces behind the Miss Maude shop. And here are her musings.
