Here's what some of our wonderful customers have had to say:

"So great to finally meet you in the flesh yesterday and see your STUNNING shop full of the most delicious things. It is truly heaven on earth for me. You were thus far my fave online store, and now my fave bricks and mortar store too! An inspiration as a woman in business, and as someone who has brought to life beauty and depth and good honest products and inspired others to come along for the ride. Next time I'm staying longer! Can't wait to sew up my fabric!"  Jodie

"Thanks for the fabric suggestions and on point sewing advice - with tape measure demo!  You've made such a beautiful store - it gives me the same 'coming home' feels as a visit to the library or the art store and reminds me so much of the kind of vintage drapers shops I went to with my grandmother when I was first learning to sew" Adele.

Miss Maude

Miss Maude loves stealing a little time in her day to slow down and create something. It's satisfying, beautiful and often practical.  In short it makes her smile. She hopes to inspire you to do the same by stocking a range of high quality fabrics and sewing supplies.

Run by a woman passionate about sewing, craftsmanship, quality, and customer service.  Hi, I'm Emma.

I am starting small with the goal of bringing together a beautiful collection of quality sewing supplies.  I only stock what I love to work with and what inspires me to create.

Having sewn for as long as I can remember, it’s quite delightful to be able to open a fabric and haberdashery store!  I have worked in creative industries, furniture design and business development and have dabbled in fashion design, illustration, photography and pattern making.  Since starting sewing at the age of eight, I have sewn most things, from curtains and quilts through to ball gowns and wedding dresses.  I hope this little collection of skills and experience will enable me to bring you some of the best fabrics, haberdashery and patterns from around the world and deliver them with great customer service.

And what's in a name?  The Miss Maude store was conceived and created while I spent a year living amongst some of New Zealand's most beautiful mountains.  Our house was at the foot of Mount Maude - she looked over my shoulder as I worked.  She was white when it snowed, green when it rained, and brown when the sun baked her during the long hot summer.

Welcome xx
